Exploring a career in commercial real estate? Our internship and externship programs for college students of color provide an unmatched hands-on experience. NAIOP Greater Philadelphia partners with leading commercial real estate companies to offer this experience for students.
Graduates of our NAIOP-Drexel Summer Program can attend the annual Externship Program during winter break – a day filled with property tours, unique education sessions, and networking.
During the summer, our paid internship program for college juniors and seniors is a 10-week practical experience in your area of interest.
Paid Internships
Each summer, NAIOP Greater Philadelphia partners with leading local CRE companies to offer paid internships to past-participants of the NAIOP-Drexel Summer Program. Internship focuses include: real estate development, leasing, finance, project management, property management, architecture and engineering. Internship applicants must be an alumni of our summer program, currently enrolled in a college or university, has completed 1 year of higher education with coursework relatable to CRE, has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and is interested in pursuing a career in commercial real estate.
Current companies offering internships: CBRE, Ensemble, IMC, Mosaic Development Partners, MRA Group, Schneider Electric.

Externship Opportunity
Our annual winter externship program is for college students interested in a career in commercial real estate. Join us during your holiday break for a day-long externship program in a CRE downtown office. This in-person opportunity is for current college students interested in a career in commercial real estate. This one day program is a deep dive into what a career in commercial real estate could look like. The day’s events include panel discussions, shadowing, networking, lunch meeting, professional meetings, Q&A and time with our board of directors.
The 2024 Winter Externship will take place on Thursday, December 19th at Newmark’s Office in Philadelphia from 9am to 4:30pm. Students will be responsible for transportation to and from Newmark’s Office.
